Gail Golden
Gail Golden, MBA, Ph.D., provides strategic advice and coaching to reveal what’s really going on, so leaders can make rapid, accurate decisions to create breakthrough change, both in their organizations and in their own career paths. As a licensed psychologist and an MBA-holding entrepreneur, Gail understands both the emotions and the economics successful C-suite executives and senior professionals must master. Her unique approach combines sports-influenced tactics of performance coaching with psychology-trained skills of empathy to bring the best out of businesses, leaders, and employees. One of her specialties is helping leaders identify their values and priorities and then focus their energy on fulfilling those goals.
Gail has coached senior leaders at AbbVie, Alliant Credit Union, Best Buy, BMO, The City of Chicago, Discover, The Illinois Holocaust Museum, Jones Lang Lasalle, Northern Trust, Potbelly, SGS & Co, The University of Chicago, Weber Shandwick, William Blair, and many more. Her book, Curating Your Life: Ending the Struggle for Work-Life Balance, published by Rowman & Littlefield in April 2020, is based on more than four decades of helping leaders of all types maximize their achievements and navigate life and career transitions.
Gail has extensive experience as a public speaker and media commentator and was a TEDx speaker in Ocala, FL, in 2023. She has taught courses at the Booth School of Business at the University of Chicago. She has been quoted in Fast Company, Forbes, The Wall Street Journal, Crain’s Chicago Business, The Chicago Tribune, Psychology Today, and numerous other publications. She is the Principal of Gail Golden Consulting, an international network of senior management psychologists and consultants. She serves on the Women’s Board of the University of Chicago, has been elected to the International Women’s Forum, and coordinates the Chicago Coaching Roundtable, a network of leading executive coaches.
Gail has been married for over fifty years to Dan, a professional violist. She enjoys visiting with her three adult sons, their wives, and her five grandchildren. When she’s not working, she spends her time cooking Italian food and watching excellent movies.
