Sundus Kubba
Sundus Kubba is a finance and strategy executive with an interdisciplinary background spanning electrical engineering, investment banking, and corporate strategy. Born in Iraq, she was educated across continents, completing high school and her first year of college in Jordan, earning a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Carleton University in Canada, and an MBA in Finance and Corporate Strategy from the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan.
A co-inventor on multiple U.S. patents, Sundus began her career designing antennas and semiconductor systems before moving into investment banking, where she advised financial services companies, primarily in the insurance sector, on capital markets and merger and acquisition transactions. She went on to be the Chief of Staff at OneMain Financial, one of America’s largest non-bank consumer lending companies, where her work spanned corporate development, operational transformation, and board-level strategy as a member of the executive leadership team.
Sundus is drawn to questions of economic opportunity and human dignity, shaped in part by her own family’s experience leaving a country marked by instability. She has advised entrepreneurs across various stages and sectors, including nonprofit and public service delivery, and has mentored professionals early in their careers.
