Acceptance of this offer of admission indicates acceptance of the following terms and conditions:

LSI will be held from September 25, 2023, to June 1, 2024, broken into three 10-week quarters. All Fellows are required to be in-person on the University’s Hyde Park campus for the first two weeks of the program from Monday, September 25 to Wednesday, October 11, 2023. This period will include orientation to LSI as well as the Aspen Institute’s multi-day executive seminar. For the duration of the program, LSI courses and activities will be held in person exclusively Monday through Wednesday each week, leaving Thursdays and Fridays with flexibility. Fellows may choose to take audited courses on Thursdays and/or Fridays and will also be invited to campus events on these days. For more information on breaks in between quarters and University holidays, please review the  University’s full 2023-2024 Academic Calendar.

LSI’s tuition is $75,000 for the fellowship year. Fellows are responsible for making tuition payments on a quarterly basis upon receipt of an invoice from the Bursar’s Office the second week of each quarter. This means tuition will be paid in one-third increments over the academic year. Payment instructions will be included in each invoice and payments can be made via the Fellow’s UChicago portal.

Cost of living expenses are not included in LSI’s tuition. Fellows are responsible for costs associated with travel and lodging.

LSI is a non-credit bearing program. All courses will receive a grade of ‘R’ reflecting course completion without evaluation on official transcripts. Courses taken during the Leadership & Society Initiative cannot be applied toward future degree programs.

International students should note that full-time registration is necessary to remain in valid student visa status.

LSI Fellows are required to comply with the University’s Immunization Policy, and provide proof of mandatory vaccination. Fellows are expected to adhere to all policies outlined in the University’s student manual: https://studentmanual.uchicago.edu/.
