Fees & Scholarships
The LSI program fee covers a wide array of courses, experiences, and resources over the LSI fellowship year. We aim to make the fellowship accessible to those who meet the LSI selection criteria and offer scholarships opportunities to help reduce financial barriers for qualified candidates.

Imagine Pathway
The program fee for the Imagine Pathway includes:
- All LSI Core courses curated exclusively for the cohort
- Personalized coaches and advisors
- Special events and cultural excursions during quarterly retreat weekends
- All meals during quarterly retreat weekends
- Lodging in a standard king room at The Study Hotel during quarterly retreat weekends
For the 2027 fellowship year, the program fee for the Imagine Pathway is set at $41,250.
Design Pathway
The program fee for the Design Pathway includes:
- All LSI Core courses curated exclusively for the cohort
- All audited courses
- An immersive weeklong orientation
- Personalized coaches and advisors
- A weeklong travel study program (excluding airfare, some meals, and lodging)
- Quarterly Immersion Days exploring the biggest issues facing society
- Membership to the Quadrangle Club for the duration of the academic year
- Special meals, networking, cultural excursions and opportunities
- Full access to UChicago student resources, including libraries, recreational facilities, campus events, and a wide range of academic and co-curricular offerings
For the 2026-2027 academic year, the program fee for the Design Pathway is set at $82,500.
Financial Support
Scholarships
Scholarship support reflects our commitment to making the fellowship possible for the most promising candidates to ensure the cohort reflects a meaningful blend of areas of expertise, interests, and visions for leadership in their next chapter. Prospective Fellows will have an opportunity during the final stage of the admissions process to indicate interest in financial support. Candidates interested in financial support will be required to complete an additional essay.
LSI scholarship opportunities include the LSI Scholarship Fund, which supports candidates from all professional backgrounds. The fund helps extend the opportunity of the fellowship to accomplished leaders who have demonstrated a commitment to societal needs and bring distinct experience, perspectives and aspirations for impact to the LSI community.
Also available is the Curtis and Sammon LSI Life of Service Scholarship, a named scholarship established to broaden access for leaders who have spent most of their careers working in nonprofit organizations, government institutions, schools, the military, and other public-sector or mission-driven settings.
Created by inaugural LSI Fellow Geoff Curtis and Emily Sammon, the Life of Service Scholarship reflects their belief in the power of the fellowship to help experienced leaders clarify their purpose, expand their perspective, and translate a lifetime of knowledge into meaningful action.
Employer Tuition Reimbursement and Professional Development Grants
Many companies and organizations provide tuition reimbursement or professional development benefits that may be applied toward programs like LSI. Prospective Fellows are encouraged to check with their employer, benefits office, or professional association to understand what support may be available. While LSI is designed for accomplished leaders discerning their next chapter of contribution, this growth is valuable across many professional and civic contexts. Fellows who complete the full fellowship year will be awarded a certificate of completion and will have an academic transcript of the courses completed.
