Kelly Tomblin
Kelly A. Tomblin is the President & Chief Executive Officer of El Paso Electric, a utility serving approximately 470,000 customers in western Texas and southern New Mexico. Kelly brings over 30 years of leadership experience in the energy sector, having worked in markets including the U.S., Latin America, the Caribbean, and the United Kingdom. Prior to her current role, she led Jamaica Public Service, Mastec’s INTREN (a major utility infrastructure contractor), and served in executive capacities with other energy-firms.
Tomblin holds an MBA from New York University’s Stern School of Business, a Juris Doctorate (J.D.), and a Bachelor of Science in Journalism with a concentration in Public Relations from West Virginia University. She began her career practicing law as an attorney at K&L Gates before transitioning into a leadership track in the energy industry.
In addition to her corporate roles, Tomblin is the co-author of ThinkLove Leadership, a leadership philosophy and framework grounded in the idea that leaders must think creatively and lead with love – combining strategic clarity with moral purpose. Through ThinkLove Leadership, she advocates that effective leadership isn’t just about achieving results, but doing so with actions that uplift people, prioritize culture, foster trust, and align values.
Kelly is also deeply engaged in governance beyond her company. She serves on multiple boards and advisory councils, including local chambers of commerce and utility associations. Recognized for her leadership, she has received awards such as “Global CEO of the Year” by S&P Platts. She is known for driving transformation, operational excellence, and inspirational leadership in organizations navigating change.
