Robert Grossman

Robert Grossman is an expert in data science, recognized for his pioneering work in computational methods that address challenges in healthcare, biology, and various other fields. Dr. Grossman is the Frederick H. Rawson Distinguished Service Professor of Medicine and Computer Science, the Chief of the Section of Biomedical Data Science in the Department of Medicine at the University of Chicago,  and the Jim and Karen Frank Director of the Center for Translational Data Science (CTDS) at the University of Chicago. As the director of the Center for Translational Data Science, his research focuses on leveraging big data and machine learning techniques to improve healthcare systems and medical outcomes.

Dr. Grossman also serves as the Chair of the not-for-profit Open Commons Consortium, which develops and operates clouds to support research in science,
medicine, health care, and the environment. He is also a Partner of Analytic Strategy Partners LLC.

Grossman’s innovations extend to a wide range of industries, including finance, where he applies his knowledge to solve complex, data-driven problems that impact society.
