Terry Ransford

Former Partner, Global Head Investment Operations, Aon Investment Consulting

Terry Ransford has more than 40 years’ experience with major financial services firms in securities brokerage, trading, asset management and product development. He has extensive experience with domestic and global securities trading systems and asset management platforms.

Prior to retiring in September of 2024 Terry was a Partner and Global Head of Investment Operations and Trading at Aon Investment Consulting, a $200 billion asset manager based in Chicago. Aon Investment Consulting manages retirement plans for major institutional customers in Europe and the Americas. He was responsible for trading, trading systems, transition management, and operations globally.

Terry’s experience with trading and technology began when securities trading moved to the internet. He was responsible for one of the earliest bank owned securities trading sites, First Chicago NBD Investment Services online brokerage in the late 1990s. An innovator, Terry was also part one of the first virtual banks, WingspanBank.com, where he was President of Wingspan Investments Services. Wingspan was the internet brand of Bank One and was later acquired by JP Morgan Chase. He moved to Northern Trust Bank where, as part of Northern Trust’s web portal, he launched Northern Trust Securities Online Brokerage in the early 2000s.

More recently Terry’s focus turned global. He ran Northern Trust Securities global broker dealer trading. After moving to Aon he implemented trading and portfolio management system for Aon’s global asset management business leveraging the most current SWIFT protocols.

Terry’s community and civic involvements include United Way, Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Grant Park Symphony, and Misericordia. Terry holds a BS in Economics from Illinois State University.
