Tim Lanai

Tim Lanai is a successful entrepreneur and small business owner, having launched and led two different companies from the ground up. Tim started his career in sales, working for high-tech computer companies that sold to the printing and publishing industry. After working with printing companies for nearly two decades to help improve their bottom line and getting a good understanding of what it takes to run a successful business, Tim decided to go out on his own and become an entrepreneur. He started two businesses from scratch.

The first, in 2006, was an executive search company specializing in placing engineers and scientists in the pharmaceutical industry. Then, in 2015, he purchased a franchise in the home services industry in Nashville, TN. That company has grown from no customers to over 4,000 and received numerous awards, including Most Philanthropic Franchisee in 2017 and 2019 and Franchisee of the Year.

Tim and his wife still own their home services company in Nashville, and they reside in Nashville and Chicago. Along with overseeing their business, Tim mentors new and prospective owners on starting and sustaining a successful business. They have four children; one is attending UChicago as a graduate student and is now attending school with her dad!
