About the Event

As LSI concludes its inaugural year, the Closing Symposium will showcase reflections and insights from the cohort across the three learning pillars of the program – Know Oneself, Understand the World, and Envision the Future. The afternoon will include a series of panel discussions and presentations with the Fellows sharing key lessons from their time in Fellowship and how the process has informed their next chapters of purpose. The event will also feature David Brooks and Anne Snyder in dialogue with the Fellows on the big questions that drive our sense of purpose and the opportunity to activate leaders at the peak of their wisdom in service of society.
AGENDA

1:05 p.m. — The Aspirational Self, panel discussion with LSI Fellows

1:35 p.m. — Session Break

1:45 p.m. — Intellectual Discovery, panel discussion with LSI Fellows

This panel will discuss the process of uncovering foundational principles across disciplines, critical inquiry, and breakthrough ways of thinking.

2:15 p.m. — Reflective Essay, written and read by Laura Thrall

2:20 p.m. — Session Break

2:30 p.m. — Pathways to Impact, purpose plan presentations by LSI Fellows
Individual Fellows will share their roadmaps for their future purpose and societal impact.

4:00 p.m. — Session Break

4:15 p.m. — The Big Questions, panel discussion with LSI Fellows and guests
What is history asking of us right now? How do I move from the professional mindset to the generative mindset? How is wisdom different from knowledge? What do I fear? How must I grow? These are just a few of the big questions the LSI Fellows explored in David Brooks’ and Anne Snyder’s course. This panel will look back on the learning experience, some ‘aha’ moments along the way, and the opportunity for ongoing questioning and reflecting in this next stage.

Note: The Closing Symposium will be directly followed by an invite-only dinner for LSI Faculty, Fellows, and their families.
