Jeff Haggray
Dr. Jeffrey Haggray is the Executive Director / CEO of the American Baptist Home Mission Societies (ABHMS) and Judson Press, where he leads a national Christian mission organization dedicated to leadership development, continuous learning and training in discipleship, and community transformation.
A gifted pastor, strategist, and bridge-builder, Jeff grounds his leadership in a deep belief that faith must actively address humanity’s well-being and justice. He works closely with regional and national partners across the United States and Puerto Rico to foster transformational ministry, resource congregations, and support emerging Christian leaders.
Prior to his tenure at ABHMS, Jeff served American Baptist congregations in New Jersey, Washington, D.C., and Georgia. He was Regional Executive Minister for the District of Columbia Baptist Convention, a role in which he helped congregations access critical resources so they could better serve their communities.
Under his leadership, ABHMS has launched or expanded a number of key initiatives. These include ministrElife, a social-media and networking platform for ministry professionals; and the Center for Continuous Learning, ABHMS’s hub for practical mission education.
Jeff has earned significant recognition for his leadership, including a Distinction in Congregational Ministry award from Yale Divinity School and the James F. Jenkins Pillar of Faith award from Howard University School of Divinity. He was inducted into the Martin Luther King Jr. Board of Preachers at Morehouse College in 2023.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from the University of Virginia, a Master of Divinity from Yale Divinity School, and a Doctor of Ministry from Wesley Theological Seminary. Additionally, he received honorary Doctor of Divinity degrees from Eastern University and Alderson-Broaddus College.
