Tom Godbold

Executive Vice-President and General Counsel, Twin Eagle Resource Management

Tom Godbold is Executive Vice President, General Counsel, and Secretary of Twin Eagle Resource Management, LLC, an energy-commodities marketing company, where he oversees the firm’s legal, regulatory, governance, HR, IT and transaction functions.

Prior to joining Twin Eagle in 2012, Godbold built a distinguished 28-year career as a partner at Fulbright & Jaworski, L.L.P. (now part of Norton Rose Fulbright), practicing in Houston and Washington, D.C. A member of the American College of Trial Lawyers, his litigation practice spanned complex corporate matters, securities and class-action defense, professional liability defense, and First Amendment/trademark work in state and federal courts. Early in his legal career, he served as a law clerk to U.S. District Judge Carl O. Bue, Jr., in Houston.

Beyond his corporate work, Godbold has played major leadership roles in the legal community in Texas. He served as President of Houston Bar Association (HBA) in 2002-

2003. Later, he was elected Chair of the Board of State Bar of Texas (SBOT), serving a one-year term after having been on the board since 2003. In addition, he has chaired the board of the pro bono organization Houston Volunteer Lawyers (HVL) and served as a board member for the nonprofit, Farm Africa. He wants to focus his next career on food insecurity and access to justice issues. He and Debbie have been married 42 years, and they have two daughters and two granddaughters.

Godbold earned a B.B.A. in Finance from University of Texas (1979) and a J.D. from University of Houston Law Center (1982).
